Established in 2017, Wet Whistle Wines is owned and operated by longtime Brooklyn residents Cory Hill and Megan Mardiney.
Cory brings more than three decades of experience across wine, spirits, beer, and hospitality. His career includes senior sales and management roles with respected importers such as Noble House Wines, 12% Beer Project, and VOS Selections, where he managed key Brooklyn accounts, built portfolios, and developed long-standing relationships with retailers and hospitality partners throughout the tri-state area. Earlier in his career, Cory was an operating partner at Grace Restaurant in TriBeCa, giving him firsthand experience as a restaurant owner. He also honed his craft in some of New York City’s most respected restaurants and bars, including Eleven Madison Park, DB Bistro Moderne, Union Square Hospitality Group, and Keens Steak House. As a bar manager, operating partner, and consultant, he designed cocktail programs, curated beer, wine, and spirits selections, trained staff, and managed complex, high-volume operations. His highly developed palate, deep product knowledge, and genuine love of hospitality define the Wet Whistle experience.
Megan works alongside Cory in the shop and leads all marketing, advertising, and communications for the business. She also develops and manages Wet Whistle’s tasting program and in-store events, drawing on her background in branding and storytelling to create a warm, community-centered space.
Though they’ve worked in every borough, Cory and Megan have been rooted in Brooklyn since the mid-1980s. They are proud to be part of the Red Hook community and are committed to serving their neighbors with thoughtfulness, expertise, and a true passion for great wine and spirits.
